EVA Update for 10-15-21

Good afternoon EVA family!

Another Friday has come and almost gone. The days are growing shorter, and the weather forecasters would like for us to believe that things are going to get a little cooler starting this weekend. I am always skeptical of weather forecasts in Florida, but I am hoping these reports are correct. Here are a few important things to know as we finish up the school week.

Report cards for the first quarter were posted to the Parent/Student Portal on Monday. If you have not yet had a chance to look at those, please do so this weekend. Those report cards can be found by clicking on E-Locker on the green top header row of the portal. On the next screen below that header you will see three tabs. Click on E-Portfolio and then you will see a list of documents, the first of which is the Report Card for Quarter 1. All of the progress reports and report cards will be posted to this E-Portfolio as the year continues. Once you have had a chance to review the report card for quarter 1, you may have questions for your student’s teachers. The best way to contact them is through their school email address. Those can all be found our school website at the link below. If you would like to meet with one or more teachers in person, please contact the school office at 904-786-1411 and they will schedule that meeting.

If your student sold items during the fall fundraiser, they received their incentive items today. One of those items was a week of Friday dress. That week is next week, October 18-22, and the students can wear Friday dress, hats, and flip-flops to school all next week. Every student that earned this incentive has been given a wristband that they will need to have on them or with them as they come to school next week.

On this coming Wednesday, October 20th, we will have School Picture Retakes. If your student was not at school on Picture Day earlier this year, or perhaps they just were not happy with the results, then this Wednesday is the day to have a new picture made. If you will be taking a picture that day, be sure to dress for the occasion.

On Thursday, the 21st, we will have the elementary school spelling bee for our 2nd through 6th grade class spelling contestants. If you have a student participating in the bee, please feel free to join us at 8:45 in the gym for that event.

Finally, we will be kicking off our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on October 25th and it will go for two weeks until November 5th. We do this in partnership with the Salvation Army and all of the food that the EVA family donates goes to those in need here in our local community. As you are out shopping over the next few weeks, please grab a few of the following if you are able: Boxed Cornbread, Canned Vegetables, Cake or Brownie Mix, Boxed Stuffing, Canned Cranberries, Evaporated Milk, Boxed Mashed Potatoes, Rice, and Boxed Mac N’ Cheese. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

As always, please reply with any questions. Have a great weekend and we will see you Monday!

Sincerely,

Josh Sheetz
