13 Sep EVA Update for 9-10-21
Good afternoon EVA family!
We are full speed ahead and far enough into September that I have stopped having to cross out the 8 after I start to put the date on anything. This week was one school day shorter, but we still had plenty going on here at EVA.
Tonight, we have a home varsity football game at 7:00 pm. This game will be played at SOS Academy Field which is located at 6974 Wilson Boulevard here on the west side of Jacksonville. You can purchase tickets at the gate ($8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students) or online using the link below. We would love to see you there cheering on the Warriors.

Our fall fundraiser wrapped up today, but you can still bring in order sheets on Monday and those will be counted toward the incentives that the students can earn. The online sale actually continues all the way until December 3rd so your family and friends can purchase items online for the next couple of months and the proceeds will still go to help our school. All funds raised will go toward the purchase and installation of new playground equipment here at EVA. That equipment has been ordered and should be ready for play some time in November.
Grandparent’s Day is this Sunday, September 12th. We had a lot of fun with those grandparents and friends that joined our elementary students for the parade this morning. We want to thank all of the grandparents that support our EVA students. We appreciate the time, energy, and resources that you invest in the lives of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
Next Thursday, Mr. Pope will be starting an after-school Bible study for boys in grades 3 through 6. If your student is interested in that, they will start meeting on Thursday, September 16th, and then meet every other week. That will be from 3:00-3:30 in Mr. Pope’s classroom. All interested young men should speak to Mr. Pope and let him know they will be attending. After not having one for over a year, we have a new flagpole that is located by the school sign near the exit onto Ramona Boulevard. Starting next week, Mrs. Lee and her 6th grade class will be raising and lowering the American flag each school day that weather permits.
Our high school students have voted, and the 2021 Homecoming Court has been named. Our 9th grade representative is Makenna Owens. Our 10th grade representative is Abby Ehly. The 11th grade representative is Bailey Hurst, and we have four seniors completing the court. They are Kinley Bailey, Brionna Barrios, Samiah Coachman, and Audrey Sheetz. Congratulations ladies!
As always, thank you for being a part of EVA. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reply or contact the school office at 904-786-1411 during the school day. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Josh Sheetz
