26 Aug EVA Update for 8/26/22
Good afternoon EVA family!
We are settling into the school year routine here at EVA. Just as students must adjust their schedules and routines, teachers also must adjust to the standing and talking that is required of them. With a little over two weeks behind us, the pattern of school days seems to be setting in. Here are a few things to know about as we head into the weekend.
Our fall sports are underway, and both of our volleyball teams are off to a great start under their new coaches, Cassidy Stevens and Grant Hall. Both teams won both of their matches this week. Congratulation girls! Varsity football heads down to Branford to take on the Buccaneers tonight. That game begins at 7pm.
Our fall fundraiser kicks off on Monday and will go for two weeks. We are once again partnering with Charleston Wrap so that you can get an early jump on your holiday shopping. To get started, read through the attached instruction letter to help your student get registered for the fundraiser. Along with the instructions, we have attached a letter with the incentives that students will earn as they sell. Those incentives include homework passes, a week of Friday dress, and even days off school. Please review this information and help the school by spreading the word to your friends and family. We thank you in advance for your support!
We continue to kick off after school activities as the year progresses. On Thursday, September 1st, our Kid’s Choir for students in grades 2nd through 6th will meet for the first time this year. That will take place in Mrs. Ferry’s room from 3:00 to 3:30. On Thursday, September 8th, Mr. Rolli will be hosting the Table-Top Game Club for our 8th through 12th grade students. For more information about that, please see the attached flyer. And finally, the Brain Bowl team will be meeting for the first time on September 9th after school from 3:15-4:00. If your middle or high school student loves trivia or has a vast amount of random knowledge, we would love to see them at Brain Bowl.
A quick calendar note as you plan ahead… there is no school on Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day.
Well, that is all for now. We really enjoy having the students back on campus. Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!
Sincerely,
Josh Sheetz
