28 Jul EVA Update for 7-23-21
Good afternoon EVA family!
We are one week closer to the start of the 2021-2022 school year, and it is getting busy as we prepare for the return of parents and students. As you wrap up the work week, here are a few things to know as you plan for the upcoming school year.
Parent/Student Orientation is less than two weeks away. On Thursday, August 5th, we will have Returning Student Orientation from 4:30-5:30 and New Student Orientation for grades 1-12 from 6:30-7:30. Kindergarten-5 Orientation will be the following day (Friday, August 6th) from 9am-10am. The school year begins two weeks from Monday on August 9th. The first day will be a half-day of school for all grades.
The hot lunch lineup is set for the fall semester. Papa John’s pizza will be sold each Monday in the lunchroom and must be purchased here at the school. All lunches Tuesday through Friday are sold through our partnership with MyHotLunchbox. You can access the lunch ordering by clicking on the link below or access it by choosing Lunch Ordering on the Resources menu on the school website. Ordering will open approximately two weeks before the school year begins. The remainder of the lunch lineup is as follows: Tuesday-Whataburger, Wednesday- Chick-fil-a, Thursday- Firehouse Subs, Friday- The Loop Pizza Grill.
School uniforms need to be ordered immediately if you have not yet done this.
Supply lists are available and students in grades 4-12 need to be completing their summer reading.
Consistent attendance is essential for students to do their best in school. Please check out this short video by our Dean of Students, Cathy Rottmann, summarizing our school attendance policies.
Finally, we do have some middle school and varsity sports kicking off before school begins. Girls’ volleyball tryouts are Monday, August 2nd, (Middle School 3:00-4:30 and High School 4:30-6:00) and Tuesday, August 3rd (Middle School 3:00-4:00 and High School 4:00-5:00). Football conditioning for boys in grades 6-12 starts on Monday, July 26th, and goes from 3:15 to 5:30. Boys should bring gym shoes and cleats to conditioning.
That is all for now. Please reply with any questions or contact the school office at 904-786-1411. The school office will be open five days a week again starting next week. I hope you have an incredible weekend and find a pool, lake, river, or beach to provide some relief from this summer heat.
