10 Jun EVA Update for 6-4-21
Good afternoon EVA family!
I hope that you have had a great week. We are in full summer mode here at the school as we take on a variety of projects to prepare for the 2021-2022 school year. We also get to rest a little more as we close the office on Fridays and recharge after a busy school year. Our hope that is that our students and families have some time to recharge this summer as well.
As we take on projects here at the school, we realize that many in the EVA family own businesses or work in trades that could be helpful to the EVA family. To allow us to learn more about those of you that fit this description, we have included a short survey that you can complete if you would like to share that information with the school. When we hear of someone that has a need for these services, we would love to refer them to those that are a part of EVA. To add a business or trade, please click on the link below.

As the summer continues, we have students that are gathering for workouts and open gyms for many of our sports. To participate in a school sport, students must have a current annual sports physical. These can be done by your pediatrician’s office or through many of the sports medicine providers in our area. If you have a student that will play a sport or is interested in one, summer is a great time to get this done so that your student’s physical will not expire in the middle of a sport’s season. You can find the needed forms for these physicals on our school website.

Summer is also a great time for students to READ! Students in grades 4 through 12 have assigned summer reading. The purpose of the Eagle’s View Academy summer reading program is to encourage students to read and appreciate classic and contemporary literary works. Summer reading also encourages continued learning and scholastic development while students are away from school. Parents, please encourage your students to read each day rather than waiting till the end of the summer. Evaluation will be on the books – not the film if there is one. To see the summer reading lists, please click on the link below and choose the grade that your student will be in during the 2021-2022 school year.

Summer is also a great time for our high school students to SERVE their community! We have two opportunities right now that I want you to be aware of. Students can help distribute food from 10:45-12:45 each Thursday in the month of June. This takes place just down the road from EVA at Rolling Hills Baptist Church. Students will need to see Gail Perkins when they arrive and have her sign off on their service hours when they leave. One Blood is also in need of volunteers that are 16 or older. They are having a blood drive on July 10th from 8am to 6pm at TIAA Bank Field where the Jaguars play. To get more information about this opportunity, please contact Susan Branch at 904-854-6784 or susan.branch@oneblood.org .
A final reminder that the school uniform store is taking orders now and you will want to order this month. There will be a week of special offers from June 21st through June 25th. Starting next week, we will have some uniform samples here at the school that your students can try on or you can go to their store front in Orange Park to try on items there.
