03 Dec EVA Update for 12-3-21
Good afternoon EVA family!
Last Friday, many of us were having leftover turkey, traveling, watching football, or doing some Christmas shopping. This Friday, we had students going to classes, enjoying chapel, giving blood to help save lives in our community, practicing basketball, and learning about engineering at Busch Gardens in Tampa. We may be close to the end of the second semester, but things have not slowed down yet. Here is everything to know as we head into the last week of school in 2021.
This Monday, 12-6, is the final normal day of school for our middle and high school students. After that they will be following the Fall Semester Exam schedule that is attached. Please review that schedule carefully so that you know when each exam will take place next week and. Middle and high school students that do not have an exam are not required to be at school during the exam period for that class. For example, seniors that do not have classes after 5th period do not have to be here during the 6th and 7th period exam times. Attendance at the Christmas Party/Class Gathering on Friday morning is not mandatory, but all students are welcome to attend. Those that do not attend the Christmas Party will need to be at school by 8:40 to review for their 1st Hour Exam. Please have your students get plenty of rest and focus on studying and preparing for their exams next week.
Students in all grades have half-day dismissal (11:30 for grades K-6, 11:50 for grades 7-12) Wednesday through Friday of next week. Grades and grade reports will not be available in the Parent/Student Portal from Tuesday, December 7th until second quarter report cards post to the portal on January 7th.
On Tuesday night, we will have our elementary Christmas program in the gym at 6:30. The students have been practicing their songs and verses and we hope that all of our elementary students and families will be able to join us that evening.
The mornings continue to be cool. If your student is still in need of one of the school uniform jackets, we have both the fleece and dri-fit style jackets available for sale in the school office. We have every size youth medium and larger. We will sell them for the same price that they sell for at the uniform store ($23.00-$24.50 for the fleece, $27.00-$29.50 for the dri-fit) for as long as we have them. We also have the PE shirt for sale in a variety of sizes if your student needs that. Please contact the school office for more information if you are interested in the uniform jackets or PE t-shirts.
Finally, we are getting close to that time of year when prospective families are considering EVA as a school to enroll their children in for 2022-2023. Our marketing team will be putting together a campaign to help us reach new families, and we would love your help! We want to hear why YOU chose EVA. Our marketing team will interview you and use the video footage to be published on social media. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to show new families what EVA is all about. If this sounds like something you would want to be a part of, please reply and let me know.
We look forward to a great final week with the students. Please reply with any questions or call the school office during the week at 904-786-1411. Have a great weekend and we will see you Monday.
Sincerely,
Josh Sheetz
