10 Jan EVA Update for 1-7-22
Good afternoon EVA family!
Happy New Year! The first week of 2022 is almost over and it was wonderful to have the students back in classes and here on campus. I am so grateful for that. As we start the 3rd quarter, here are a few things to know.
Report cards posted to the Parent/Student Portal today. To access them, log into the portal and then click on E-Locker in the green header row. In the E-Locker, the 2nd Quarter 2021-2022 report card should be the first thing listed. Once you have taken a look at that, please feel free to email teachers with any questions if you have them. If you are not able to access the Parent/Student Portal, please contact the school office at 904-786-1411 during school hours and we will be happy to help with that.
Basketball season continues here at EVA and all 4 teams play tonight at First Coast Christian. On Monday, January 10th, the girls’ and boys’ varsity teams play YKIM. The schedule shows that those games are away, but those games will be played in the EVA gym at 5:30 and 7:00pm respectively.
Our next day off of school is a week from Monday on January 17th. We will commemorate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on that day and students will return to school on Tuesday, January 18th.
Baseball and softball tryouts will start the following week on Monday, January 24th. All students in grades 6 through 12 can tryout if they are interested. If you have questions about either of those athletic opportunities, please contact Amber Keen, our softball coach, (akeen@evajax.com) or Daryl Bizier, our head baseball coach (dbizier@evajax.com).
As we go through January and get ready to open enrollment for 2022-2023, we would love to hear from some of our families about why they chose EVA for their students. As new parents consider EVA for their students, it is helpful for them to hear directly from current parents about the reasons that EVA was a great fit for them and their students. If you would be willing to be interviewed by our marketing team, please let me know. We greatly appreciate your willingness to share with others.
Finally, the elementary students have been able to use the new play area since they returned to school on Monday. We will finish it up by putting fencing around that area and removing what remains of the old play structure. I wanted to thank everyone that has been a part of the fundraising efforts for the last couple of years. You made this happen and students will enjoy it for years to come. Thank you!
Have a great weekend and we will see you Monday!
Sincerely,
Josh Sheetz
